Forward International Academy (FIA) – Dual U.S. High School Diploma at SLAM
Earning an American high school diploma at SLAM Without Leaving Madrid
Students at SLAM can now earn a U.S. High School Diploma alongside their current SLAM programs through our partnership with Forward International Academy (FIA).
About FIA
FIA is an accredited U.S. K–12 institution based in Madison, Wisconsin. Its curriculum aligns with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction Common Core standards and combines interactive online classes, academic support, and opportunities to earn high school credits through project-based learning outside the classroom.
FIA provides a teacher of record for every subject including English, Math, Science, Social Studies, Health, and electives, so students can receive personalized academic support. Teachers also hold regular office hours to provide live sessions for SLAM students when needed.

How it works at SLAM
- Students take FIA courses online, with schedules adapted to SLAM’s academic calendar

The Result
FIA’s diploma is globally recognized. Upon graduation, SLAM students earn both their local diploma and a U.S. High School Diploma, opening doors to universities in the U.S., Europe, and beyond.

We are pleased to announce that SLAM is now a candidate school for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (IBDP), a recognition that reflects our commitment to the highest global academic standards. In addition, thanks to our partnership with an officially authorized provider, our students have access to the IBDP at no additional cost, further enriching their educational experience.
At the same time, we offer all our students the opportunity to pursue the American High School Diploma in collaboration with Forward International Academy (Wisconsin, USA), which opens the doors to prestigious universities in North America, Europe, and the rest of the world.
This entire model is specifically designed for students who want to continue their academic education without giving up what they are most passionate about: sports. SLAM offers personalized itineraries that allow students to combine their academic development with elite sports programs, ensuring a balance between academic and athletic performance.
SLAM is, above all, a community. Here, each student will find a welcoming and diverse environment where they can learn, grow, and establish meaningful lifelong connections.
